Primitive Mammals

Mammals, fascinating and diverse vertebrates whose origins are unclear and which are often confused with the times when dinosaurs and other reptiles lived. This book reviews the geologic calendar to determine when mammals appeared, the reptiles from which they originated, and describes the first members of this group. It explores how climate and geographical changes have affected emergence and extinction of mammals, the diversity of the species, and the evolutionary journey back to the beginnings of human beings.
